On July 6, 2025, Colin competed at the Zurich Regional Karate Championship, which hosted over 500 participants. To ease the crowded venue, younger athletes started in the morning, though the event ran late from the beginning. Colin began warming up at 9:15 but didn’t step onto the tatami for his first Kata until 11:00.
In Kata, Colin advanced directly to the quarterfinal thanks to a bye, then delivered a powerful performance to secure a place in the semifinal. There he won by a close decision, and in the final he performed Seienchin, taking gold with another strong 2–1 victory—successfully defending his gold medal from last year.
With no time to rest, Colin was immediately called to Kumite while still changing gear. Despite no break or proper warm-up, he pushed through the rounds, winning both the round of 16 and quarterfinal with determination. In the semifinal, he was narrowly defeated, but came back strong in the bronze medal match, winning 2–0.
By the end of the morning, Colin had earned gold in Kata and bronze in Kumite. He may not have repeated his Kumite gold medal win, but retaining his first place in Kata shows his purpose, passion, and progress on the tatami.
